The Brew

Hi Friends,

I think I'm going to try and change the tab up on the top of the page. My 'Thoughts' are never just a thought. It's more what's been brewing in my soul. I'll work on the techy side of it when I finish, but let me develop this brew.

What is a brew? I really have no idea. I don't drink coffee. I'm not a coffee drinker. I hope to never be a coffee drinker, but some people tell me it's coming. But in my head, coffee works like this. You have a coffee bean. You cook it different ways and with different spices/conditions and it turns dark. That bean holds the flavor of the coffee. That IS coffee. But you can't drink a bean, can you? I mean... I guess I would never recommend that! Coffee is a liquid. You have to introduce a liquid to get coffee.

So first off, you take that bean that holds the taste of coffee and you grind it up into tiny particles. Now the taste of that bean is fully exposed, fully revealed to the substances around it. Then you need some hot water (really hot, from what I hear) and you take that water and let it hang out in and around and near and throughout the ground up coffee bean. That water sits and stews and runs around with those exposed coffee bean particles. THAT'S BREWING! Water and particles sitting and mingling and becoming a new substance all together!

That's what these thoughts are for me. And that's who I want to be in my journey, too. Lord, turn up the heat in my life. Refine me with the fire of your presence. Then let me brew in your presence. Expose me to you and let me become a new substance all together in and with you! I do not fear the change that comes from knowing you and becoming more like you.
